Green Day performs at the Hatch Shell.

The free concert for some 65,000 people at the Hatch Shell becomes unruly, however. When some fans taking part in the “mosh pit” in front of the shell are injured and the concert is halted, a near-riot ensues and 45 people are arrested. One of the fan declares that the concert, “was great right up until it wasn’t.”
